The Zone Diet is an anti-inflammatory eating plan that focuses on eating the right combination of carbohydrates, proteins, and fat at every meal and snack. Calorie-wise this comes out to about 40% carbohydrate, 30% protein, and 30% fat. The Zone Diet was developed more than 30 years ago by Dr. Barry Sears to help with hormonal control. To gain the greatest anti-inflammatory benefits from the diet, Dr. Sears recommends supplementation with omega-3 fatty acids and polyphenols.
