Sherlock Zone visits The Cheesecake Factory

“You’re going to send me where?” Sherlock Zone asked incredulously.

“I’m going to send you to the Cheese Cake Factory to help people figure out how to order a Zone-favorable meal there. And that’s that,” I replied firmly.

So off Sherlock went, shaking his head, just as he does every month when he investigates a restaurant menu that leaves Zoners clueless.

After he concluded his investigation, he had to grudgingly concede that Zone choices abound at the Cheese Cake Factory.

For his appetizer he created his own Thai Lettuce wrap, choosing satay chicken strips, bean sprouts and a spicy Thai sauce. There were also several salads from which to choose, including the proverbial chicken Caesar salad. The Luau Salad consists of grilled chicken breast layered with mixed greens, cucumbers, green onions, red and yellow peppers, mango, crisp wontons, macadamia nuts and sesame seeds. Go easy on the wontons and mango. The Symphony Salad is another hearty Zone meal filled with grilled chicken, fresh tomatoes, asparagus, red and yellow peppers, green beans, fresh mozzarella and lettuce tossed with a Parmesan cheese vinaigrette.

There were a lot of entrée choices. The Asian Vegetable Stir Fry features chicken and vegetables topped with almonds served over rice or pan-fried noodles. Sherlock politely asked to hold the rice or noodles. The Chicken Madeira is a sautéed chicken breast topped with fresh asparagus and melted mozzarella cheese and covered with fresh mushroom Madeira sauce. It’s served with mashed potatoes, which Sherlock declined.

If you still need more Zone-favorable carbohydrates, side dishes include sautéed spinach, fresh asparagus, and sautéed snow peas and vegetables. And you know what? If your dinner party consists of four or more, why not order a piece of cheesecake and share it with your fellow diners.
