“But that’s a restaurant for kids and teen-agers,” Sherlock Zone protested when he was assigned The Hard Rock Cafe for this month’s menu investigation. For those of you who don’t know, Sherlock visits restaurants to give people a clue on what to order.
But off he went and found several offerings that keep diners in the Zone.
There are a number of suitable salads that come with a choice of dressings. You can also add grilled chicken, smoked turkey breast, shrimp and cheese.
The HRC Haystack Chicken Salad has mixed greens, carrots, corn, diced tomatoes, tortilla straws and shredded cheese. Go easy on the corn and carrots (a little of each won’t hurt you) and pass on the tortilla straws. The salad is topped with grilled chicken breast and spicy pecans. The dressing used is Hidden Valley Ranch so ask your server about the fat content.
The Hard Rock House Salad consists of crisp greens, onions, fresh tomatoes, black olives, shredded carrots and home-made croutons. You know what to do with the croutons. You can add chicken, turkey, shrimp, or cheese for an additional charge and choose from a number of dressings.
The Grilled Chinese Chicken Salad is a real Zone winner featuring assorted mixed greens, snow peas, carrots, bell peppers, water chestnuts, scallions and broccoli florets. It is topped with marinated grilled chicken and tossed with Oriental dressing.
Entrees that are in the Zone include Herb Grilled Marinated Chicken Breast, Grilled Fresh Salmon, Blackened Salmon Caesar and the Catch of the Day. Or make a Starter serve as your entrée choosing Griddled Crab Cakes or Whitewater Shrimp.
If your dinner did not contain enough carbohydrates, choose a side of Asian Cole Slaw, Grilled Onions, Sautéed Mushrooms or Steamed Fresh Vegetables.
Sherlock closed another successful case. He dined at the Hard Rock Cafe and remained in the Zone.
