Sherlock Zone was in the mood for fish the other night and decided to try Bonefish Grill, a chain of restaurants located in 30 states. Sherlock, for those of you who haven’t been introduced, is our restaurant detective, who gives Zoners clues about what to eat when they’re dining out.
When he scanned the grilled fish menu he was happy with the number of choices offered: Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Longfin Tilapia, Mahi Mahi, Sea Scallops and Gulf Shrimp, Atlantic Swordfish, Atlantic Tilefish, Ahi Tuna, Chilean Sea Bass and a Twin Lobster Tail Dinner. The fish is cooked over a wood-burning grill and served with a choice of sauces. People in Sherlock’s party chose Lime Tomato Garlic Sauce and Pan Asian-style Sauce.
A steamed vegetable medley is a good choice for a side dish.
Two appetizers were in the Zone: Saucy Shrimp, sautéed in a lime tomato garlic sauce with Kalamata olives and feta cheese; and Mussels Josephine, sautéed with tomatoes, garlic, basil and lemon wine sauce.
A couple of substantial salads are offered: Bonefish House Salad, which features greens, tomatoes Kalamata olives, heart of palm and pine nuts; and the Florida Cobb Salad with greens, spicy jerk chicken, avocado, mangos, tomatoes, Danish blue cheese and pine nuts. Say no to the mangos. Both come with citrus herb vinaigrette.
For those who don’t care for seafood, Lily’s Chicken is a good choice. The fire-roasted chicken is topped with Chevre goat cheese, wilted spinach, artichokes and a lemon basil sauce.
