A nice family meal
Layer the stew ingredients (except soy sauce or miso) in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 9 to 11 hours until beef and barley are tender. Combine salad dressing ingredients in small jar. Set aside. Just before serving, layer salad ingredients on 4 large dinner plates. Shake up the dressing again and pour over salad. Stir the soy sauce into the stew and serve in 4 large soup bowls. Serve with salad.
